Break The Shackles....1

It was a lazy afternoon as usual, in XYZ Enterprise (company’s name has been changed), when four of them were perturbed from doing nothing. They were freshers then, just passed out from their respective educational institutions and got a job in the same company. It was a private enterprise, but unlike its other competitors, it did not have much work to give them. The daily boredom was in a process to make their warm blood frozen in their veins, they were on a verge to lose their respective skills. It was then when Dipak (one of the four…) took the initiative of doing something positive. ‘Guys, aren’t we losing our skills, we are just wasting our time, wake up all and listen to me,’ frowned Dipak. In a very indolent manner somebody, who was not visible to the rest three, spoke out, ‘Dipak, please cool down and sit,’ it was Taj, who was drooping from his chair, as he was fast a sleep. Dipak and Sekhu (the third compatriot) moved forward to Taj’s seat and kicked him off from his chair. Within seconds Taj was on the floor. Suddenly, a funny voice was heard, a voice that was laughing in a weird manner. It was Amal, the fourth compatriot.

By that time, Somnath, the office peon, came into the room with tea and biscuits. The four, quickly got settled in their respective places. As Somnath left the room, Dipak got up from his chair and stood at a common place where he could interact with the rest. In a very concerning manner, he said, ‘Guys, I am really very concerned about our future, we have just started our career, but this starvation of work will make us idle and will leave us without our respective skills.’ ‘So what should we do, shall we bang open the door of our CEO's room and ask him to give us work,’ scorned Taj. ‘No, it’s not that, Taj. Try to understand what I am saying. We really don’t need any official work to prove our skills, we can do something very innovative, something our own,’ said Dipak. They were in deep thoughts, what positive work could they do that would give them a sigh of relief and a satisfaction rather than doing nothing. ‘Eureka,’ Dipak jumped from his chair and continued saying, ‘Guys, why not develop a website, where we can post different social and political issues. It would act as a common platform and not only we but any body can post his or her views there.’ The rest seemed to be a party of the proposal. ‘Not a bad idea,’ said Taj.

Their work started, the first and foremost task for them was to name their website. Dipak wanted such a name for the website which would be easy for a person to remember and which would also be very crisp and meaningful. Taj was entrusted with the duty as he was a content developer amongst them. Taj came up with many names but it was not approved by the rest three. One fine morning Taj jumped up from his chair and said, ‘Dipak I have got a very good name for our website, I am sure you will like it, rather all of you will like it.’ ‘What is it?’ Dipak said anxiously. ‘Break the shackles,’ said Taj very softly. There was complete silence in the room for a while. Suddenly Dipak jumped and said, ‘Yes, Yes, we have got it, Break the Shackels, good work Taj.’

The name was really apt according to them. The four wanted to break all the unnecessary shackles of the society. They wanted to go against all taboos and dogmas of the society. They desired to bring a common platform to everyone where one could speak his heart out.

Do wait till the next post and find out what happened to their dream, did it remain utopic or it worked out.

  1. It worked out but in a different manner and ways. The Utopic nature of the intuitive thought has proven to be a true one in terms of a different website. And so far the 4 guys are concerned, they are breaking rules in their own businesses. Sekhu has taken up the challenge to put few breakthrough ideas over the internet where as Taj is crossing all the barriers while accepting an ever evolving ID industry. Dipak has put up the baton of his mere service to convert it to his own business (to increase the productivity) shedding all his shakiness while Amal is practicing photography to sharpen his skill of media design.

The story will continue till they form an unbreakable shackle from web media to content development to ID to design (usability) to offline marketing voice. Cheers!
